The Buner police have arrested an Afghan refugee in a blasphemy case. The arrest was made on Monday night on the criticism of a shopkeeper.
The suspect, who lived in a refugee camp, has been charged beneath sections 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts supposed to outrage spiritual emotions of any class by insulting Its faith or spiritual beliefs) and 295-C (use of derogatory remarks in respect of the Holy Prophet PBUH) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The refugee runs a store in Buner. The accusation has been made by the proprietor of his neighbouring store, Muhammad Rizwan. Rizwan claimed that he heard the suspect use derogatory language against the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and he informed it to the opposite shopkeepers. After this, the shopkeepers gathered outdoors his store. The police had been referred to as to the location and so they detained the suspect.
Following this, protesting shopkeepers gathered outdoors the police station and requested the regulation enforcers to give up the suspect to them. They even attacked the station and 4 policemen had been injured. The police resorted to aerial firing to disperse them.

DSP Nasir Khan confirmed the arrest. He stated that the police are investigating the fees.
